Located in Southeastern Alberta, Canada, Special Area No, 3 is a rural municipality, with a number of hamlets and surrounds the Town of Oyen. There are 3 Special Areas in the province of Alberta; Special Area No.2, Special Area No.3 and Special Area No.4.

A rural agricultural area in Alberta, Special Area No.3 has a strong agricultural economy, successful petroleum industry and growing tourism industry.
